Job Description

The Human Resources Generalist role at Zoladz Construction Company Inc is based onsite in Alden, NY, supporting the HR Manager by processing and maintaining essential documents, correspondence, and reports while collaborating with employees, management, and external agencies in a fast paced construction setting.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate onboarding to ensure new hires are integrated smoothly into the organization
  • Verify that new hire paperwork is complete and accurate
  • Review I 9 documentation and submit to E Verify
  • Ensure new hires complete the required sexual harassment training video
  • Facilitate access to and completion of the Safety Training module
  • Review and explain employee benefits offerings
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee inquiries, resolve workplace disputes, and conduct investigations into misconduct or harassment
  • Support managers with annual performance reviews, feedback cycles, and development of performance improvement plans
  • Provide back up payroll support for management and for field payroll
  • Assist with creating or preparing HR reports
  • Process loan requests and run related reports
  • Generate reports to verify new hire eligibility
  • Assist with benefits rollovers and distributions as needed
  • Support the annual benefit audit process
  • Administer health insurance and retirement plans and prepare materials for eligible employees
  • Review benefits applications for completeness and forward to the carrier
  • Handle benefits terminations and request COBRA notices from the vendor
  • Prepare spreadsheets to reconcile monthly bills
  • Respond to questions from employees or vendors
  • Assist with annual open enrollment activities
  • Manage Paid Family Leave and disability requests
  • Maintain and audit personnel files, including purging and I-9 records as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of HR experience
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Proficient with MS Office products including Word, PWP, Excel, and Outlook
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Capable of organizing data into tables, logs, and records accurately
  • Skilled at managing multiple tasks and prioritizing workload
  • Effective interpersonal and communication abilities
