Human Resources Generalist

Outdoor Network seeks a Human Resources Generalist in Tampa, FL to partner with leadership and support the employee lifecycle across multiple business units.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a reliable HR resource for employees and managers across several business units and locations.
• Advise on policy interpretation, employee relations matters, performance discussions, attendance, corrective actions, and workplace issues.
• Lead confidential employee investigations with professionalism and proper documentation.
• Foster a positive work environment through coaching, engagement initiatives, and consistent policy application.
• Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly, salaried, professional, and management roles.
• Collaborate with hiring managers to define staffing needs and coordinate the recruitment and interview process.
• Source candidates via recruiting platforms, networking, employee referrals, and other sourcing methods.
• Coordinate pre-employment steps such as background checks, drug testing, employment verification, and onboarding activities.
• Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
• Maintain accurate records, personnel files, and HRIS data.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, policies, and HR best practices.
• Process status changes, employment documentation, and other HR transactions.
• Support policy updates, audits, HR reporting, and workforce metrics.
• Recommend process improvements to boost HR efficiency, consistency, and compliance.
• Assist employees with benefits administration, Open Enrollment, and general HR inquiries.
• Coordinate leave programs including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and other protected leaves.
• Partner with payroll to ensure accurate processing of employee changes, compensation updates, and payroll data.
• Maintain precise leave records while supporting payroll and benefits administration.
• Collaborate with leadership on workforce planning, staffing initiatives, and employee development.
• Support performance management, training, engagement, and organizational development efforts.
• Build strong relationships with staff and managers across locations.
• Participate in HR projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and ongoing improvement.
• Handle additional HR duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3–5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience.
• Local to Tampa, FL.
• Experience supporting employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, leave management, HR compliance, and HR operations.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEOC, and general HR compliance.
• Experience with HRIS and ATS systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality while exercising sound judgment and professionalism.
