Human Resources Generalist
Job Description
ConEquip Parts & Equipment, LLC is hiring a people-focused Human Resources Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations onsite in Depew, NY.
Responsibilities
- Manage attendance tracking, including the attendance line, time-off requests, and employee absences
- Coordinate and administer leave of absence programs while ensuring alignment with company policies and applicable laws
- Run full-cycle recruitment, from job postings and candidate screening to interviewing, selection, and offer coordination
- Conduct new-hire orientations and facilitate onboarding for a positive employee experience
- Serve as a go-to resource for employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and programs
- Handle employee concerns by collecting relevant details, supporting communication, and assisting with timely resolution
- Support workplace culture through employee engagement initiatives, communication, and programs aligned with company values
- Assess training needs and coordinate professional development initiatives
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops to improve employee skills, knowledge, and performance
- Support and maintain performance management processes
- Partner with managers on performance evaluations, coaching conversations, and employee development plans
- Support payroll preparation by reviewing timecards for accuracy and ensuring timely completion
- Administer employee benefit programs, including health insurance, life insurance, retirement plans, and other company-sponsored benefits
- Coordinate open enrollment activities and provide guidance to employees about available benefits
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and company policies
- Maintain and update HRIS records, employee files, and documentation for accuracy and compliance
- Keep job descriptions, policies, and HR documentation current as needed
Requirements
- Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of the organization
- Proven problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
- High level of discretion and integrity with confidential information
- Proficiency in HRIS and common office software applications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources (Business Administration preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an HR role, preferably as a generalist
- Professional HR certification preferred (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP)
- Equivalent combination of education, experience, or training may be considered
