Human Resources Generalist
Job Description
Join SK FOOD GROUP and support the plant Human Resources team in a role focused on associate experience, communication, and people operations that help drive engagement and retention. This onsite position in Cleveland, TN 37353 supports day-to-day HR workflows across staffing, associate relations, leave administration, and recordkeeping, while helping keep managers and associates informed and supported.
What you’ll do
- Support the daily workflow of the plant HR department by delivering superior customer service to associates and internal partners.
- Process personnel changes and benefits paperwork, assist with plant communications, and help coordinate staffing and hiring needs.
- Manage associate leave, including leaves of absence administration and transitional work or accommodations, and ensure timely and accurate ADP entries to support payroll and records.
- Oversee associate timecards with timely and accurate review at each pay period’s bi-weekly close.
- Maintain accurate employment files and records, including timely updates to SharePoint and ADP/HRIS for events such as new hires, termination, leaves, transfers, and promotions.
- Assist with administration and communication of SK Food Group policies, procedures, programs, and benefits, providing guidance to associates and management.
- Participate in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding, including working with outside suppliers for associate services such as temporary associates.
- Handle associate relations matters including harassment allegations, work complaints, and other associate concerns.
- Ensure HR programs are applied in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Perform other facility support duties as assigned.
Skills and qualifications
- 2+ years of experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish or other prevalent language at the plant location (preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to use HRIS and payroll/timekeeping systems (ADP experience preferred)
- Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Ability to maintain integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and delegate when appropriate
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations

Certifications
PHR, SHRM-CP, or related Human Resources Certification preferred.
Training and work environment
- Training required on Good Manufacturing Practices to support effective implementation of the Food Safety Plan and maintain food safety, quality, and process efficiency.
- Additional training required on how to identify food safety issues such as temperature control, cross-contamination, and sanitation and cleanliness of the lines.
- Occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions, work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold (non-weather), and loud noise (from machines).
- Most time spent in an office environment where noise level is usually moderate.
Compensation: USD 57,766 - 72,207 per year.
