Job Description

Coordinate HR services on site in Sauk Rapids, MN for The Good Shepherd Community, focusing on benefits administration, compliance training, safety, and administrative support.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and administer employee benefit programs such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits.
  • Process benefit enrollments, qualifying life event changes, annual open enrollment, and COBRA notifications.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for benefits-related inquiries from employees.
  • Liaise with benefit vendors to address eligibility and claims concerns.
  • Maintain precise benefits records and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Code monthly benefit invoices and verify changes are reflected in invoices and payroll records.
  • Oversee the organization's Learning Management System (LMS) administration.
  • Assign and track required education, annual competencies, and regulatory training.
  • Monitor training compliance and generate reports for department managers.
  • Maintain training documentation to meet state, federal, and accreditation standards.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee inquiries and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate the organization's employee safety program.
  • Track workplace injuries, incident reports, and OSHA-related documentation.
  • Chair the Employee Safety Committee, including Safe Patient Handling and Ergonomics.
  • Facilitate meetings and maintain meeting records.
  • Monitor mandatory safety training and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate safety communications and educational initiatives.
  • Assist with workers' compensation reporting and return-to-work documentation.
  • Maintain the organization's SDS program.
  • Process employee status changes to ensure accurate dates in the HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Perform clerical duties including wage verifications, employment verifications, correspondences, and data input.
  • Participate on the Good Shepherd Retention Committee.
  • Assist with updates to policies, procedures, and the Personnel Handbook.
  • Provide backup support to the Employment Recruiter for screening applications and onboarding new employees.
  • Support the VP of Human Resources with the leave program, including communications, paperwork distribution, notices, and receipt of required documents in compliance with leave policies.
  • Coordinate Good Shepherd’s clothing orders.
  • Offer backup support to ensure comprehensive coverage across all HR functions.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all Good Shepherd and employee information, including personnel files, health files, and payroll records.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Two or more years of HR or administrative experience preferred, ideally in healthcare or long-term care.
  • Experience administering employee benefits and maintaining HRIS records.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems or computer-based training platforms.
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety programs, OSHA regulations, workers' compensation, and incident reporting procedures.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, plus solid communication and customer service abilities.

Compensation

  • Hourly pay range: $25.25 - $31.53 per hour
