Human Resources Manager
Job Description
Mid-States Companies is seeking a seasoned Human Resources Manager to guide all HR operations across the organization. The role emphasizes talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, and organizational development to support growth.
Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
- Collaborate with department leaders to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies.
- Maintain up-to-date job descriptions and ensure accurate position documentation.
- Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding programs.
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
- Investigate and resolve employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner.
- Foster a positive workplace culture that supports engagement, retention, and professional growth.
- Support leadership with conflict resolution and performance improvement initiatives.
- Administer employee benefits programs and act as the primary liaison with benefit providers.
- Support annual compensation reviews and salary administration processes.
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and related inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain employee records and HR documentation in accordance with legal requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and updates to the employee handbook.
- Oversee HR systems, employee records, and reporting processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive human resources experience in a generalist or management role.
- Experience managing multiple HR functions including recruiting, employee relations, benefits, and compliance.
- Manufacturing, construction, distribution, transportation, or multi-location experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
