Human Resources Manager
Job Description
CSI Aviation, Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Manager to oversee HR operations for a rapidly growing, tightly regulated business with 350+ employees. This onsite role in Killeen, Texas, directs compliance, drug and alcohol testing, background checks, and personnel administration while leading a team of HR professionals. The position carries a salary range of USD 125,000 - 145,000 per year and requires a minimum of five years of HR experience, with a degree in Human Resources, business, transportation, or related field preferred (four years of HR work may substitute for the degree).
Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate the work activities of staff regarding employment, compensation, and employee relations.
- Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion, and benefits.
- Analyze statistical data and reports to identify causes of personnel issues and develop recommendations to improve personnel policies and practices.
- Maintain electronic and paper records and compile reports on personnel data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and discharge rates.
- Develop or administer special projects in Human Resources, including data analysis and reporting, new benefit programs, and employee recognition initiatives.
- Manage the federally approved Drug and Alcohol Testing Program, coordinating with testing vendors, federal auditors, and employees to enforce random testing.
- Request information from previous employers and other references to verify applicants' backgrounds.
- Process, verify, and maintain employee documentation, including staffing, training records, grievances, medical records, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain current knowledge of equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, and other labor regulations.
- Keep records related to employment events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions.
- Advertise or post job vacancies, internally and externally, and notify eligible workers of position openings.
- Answer questions regarding examinations, eligibility, benefits, and other pertinent information.
- Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
- Assist in administering employee benefit programs and workers' compensation plans.
Requirements
- Education: A degree in Human Resources, business, transportation, or a related field is preferred; four years of additional HR work experience may substitute for the degree.
- Professional Certification: None required.
- Experience: At least five years of work in Human Resources, ideally within a highly regulated industry; experience with modern HR software (Applicant Tracking, HR, timekeeping, or benefits systems); at least three years in a supervisory role with direct oversight, priority setting, performance management, training, and professional development.
- Computer Skills: Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Other: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; highly organized with attention to detail; strong project and time-management abilities; professional demeanor and appearance.
