Human Resources Manager

Blast 825 Brewery Orcutt is hiring a first dedicated Human Resources Manager to build HR infrastructure, strengthen compliance, and help shape workplace culture as the business grows.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and document core HR processes, including standardized onboarding, offboarding, performance reviews, and employee tracking systems
• Author and launch the first comprehensive, California-compliant Employee Handbook and establish clear, company-wide workplace policies
• Audit current HR practices to build a compliance framework aligned to California wage-and-hour laws, meal breaks, and required documentation
• Evaluate, select, and deploy an automated HRIS or payroll platform to reduce manual paperwork

Requirements

• Proven track record of scaling an HR function in a startup, small business, or rapidly growing environment
• Comfort operating in a fast-paced setting without preexisting manuals, with strong motivation to create structure independently
• Ability to function as a department of one, balancing strategic HR leadership with hands-on day-to-day administrative execution
• Works effectively when priorities are unclear, using a builder mindset to convert chaos into order
