Job Description

Cognito Forms is growing, and it needs an experienced Human Resources Manager to help lead HR across the employee lifecycle. This hybrid role in Columbia, SC partners closely with leadership and managers to strengthen HR programs, support day-to-day people operations, and improve the employee experience.

The position covers the full range of HR operations, from recruiting and onboarding through performance management, benefits, payroll administration, policies, compliance, and employee engagement. You will also help guide compensation planning and performance review execution while tracking HR metrics and translating them into actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, employee development, and offboarding.
  • Partner with hiring managers to build recruiting strategies, create job descriptions, manage interview processes, and improve candidate experience.
  • Administer employee benefits, including annual open enrollment, managing vendor relationships, and supporting employee education.
  • Manage payroll administration and maintain accurate employee data to ensure records and compliance are up to date.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate HR policies, including employment documentation and employee handbook updates.
  • Advise managers and employees on employee relations, performance concerns, policy interpretation, and employment best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws for a multi-state workforce.
  • Lead compensation initiatives such as salary benchmarking, annual compensation reviews, and market analysis.
  • Manage the company performance review process and support manager development through coaching and training.
  • Analyze HR metrics and provide reporting and recommendations to leadership.
  • Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, including recognition programs, company events, and internal communications.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and the overall employee experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with broad HR generalist responsibilities.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is preferred.
  • Experience supporting a multi-state workforce and maintaining employment law compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of recruiting, employee relations, benefits administration, compensation, and performance management.
  • Experience administering payroll, employee benefits, and HR systems.
  • Excellent organization with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, collaborative mindset with commitment to continuous improvement.

Compensation and Work Setup

  • Salary: USD 80,000 - 95,000 per year
  • Location: Columbia, SC (hybrid)
