Job Description

Based in Appleton, Wisconsin, this onsite role blends human resources and operations duties to support onboarding, operator development progression, and first-year employee support. The coordinator serves as a liaison among Human Resources, Operations, supervisors, trainers, and staff to enhance onboarding quality, engagement, and retention. The position offers an annual salary of USD 75,000, and a related degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead New Hire Orientation, ensuring all first-day onboarding activities are completed.
  • Facilitate facility tours and introductions to departments, supervisors, trainers, mentors, and key contacts.
  • Verify completion of onboarding documentation and required first-day training activities.
  • Serve as the primary HR and Operations liaison for employees during the initial 90 days of employment.
  • Schedule and conduct regular check-ins throughout the 90-day evaluation period to monitor engagement, answer questions, and flag potential retention risks.
  • Coordinate training activities and progression through the Operator Development Program for both new hires and experienced staff.
  • Monitor training progress and perform routine morale and engagement check-ins with Operator Development participants.
  • Identify obstacles and coaching opportunities for supervisors and trainers.
  • Maintain training documentation to track progress and completion.
  • Coordinate certification paperwork and progression milestones with supervisors, trainers, and employees.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordination of operator certifications as needed.
  • Help supervisors prepare for meaningful employee discussions.
  • Assist in monitoring first-year employee engagement and identifying retention risks.
  • Provide recommendations to improve onboarding and training effectiveness.
  • Serve as a communication liaison between HR and Operations regarding onboarding and training activities.
  • Assist with production documentation and administrative workflow as assigned.
  • Provide administrative support to Operations leadership as workload permits.
  • Assist with special projects supporting production efficiency and employee development.
  • Provide limited front office coverage when necessary.
  • Assist with administrative functions during staffing shortages or peak workload periods.

Requirements

  • A degree at the associate or bachelor’s level in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Communications, Psychology, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Previous manufacturing experience and/or leadership experience is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly organized with excellent follow-through.
  • Comfortable engaging with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and willing to learn company software systems.
