Job Description

Matick Construction Services is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to help strengthen talent management, employee experience, and day-to-day HR compliance in support of company growth. This onsite role in Livonia, MI focuses on recruiting operations, performance and evaluations, benefits administration, and employment law compliance, while partnering on workforce planning and change management activities.

What you will do

  • Own talent acquisition execution by sourcing candidates through HR systems and ATS platforms such as Kenexa BrassRing, SAP SuccessFactors, or Oracle HCM, managing the recruitment lifecycle from job posting through onboarding.
  • Coordinate employee orientation so new hires can smoothly integrate, understand company policies, and review benefits information.
  • Run employee evaluations and support performance management to promote development and identify high performers.
  • Administer benefits programs, including health insurance, workers' compensation, and FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act), ensuring accurate data entry and compliance.
  • Maintain HR legal compliance by staying current on employment and labor law requirements, including affirmative action planning and regulatory compliance management.
  • Support change management efforts such as organization design assistance, succession planning, and workforce management strategies aligned with strategic planning goals.
  • Handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining accurate records using data collection, Excel data analysis, and HRIS platforms such as PeopleSoft or Dayforce.

What you bring

  • Proven experience performing core HR department functions with a strong understanding of human capital management principles.
  • Demonstrated recruiting and talent acquisition experience, including HR sourcing techniques using ATS tools such as Kenexa BrassRing or SAP SuccessFactors.
  • Knowledge of employment and labor law, HR legal compliance standards, and regulatory requirements including FMLA and workers' compensation procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data analysis, and familiarity with HR systems including Oracle HCM or PeopleSoft.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage conflict to support positive employee relations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills across personnel administration, benefits administration, training and development, and performance management processes.

  • Salary: USD 132,056 - 142,692 per year (listed pay: $132,056.76 - $142,692.01 per year)
