Kuehne+Nagel invites you to join as a Logistics Human Resources Expert, an onsite role based in West Jefferson, OH with responsibilities that support Groveport, OH operations within the organization. As the local HR Generalist, you will manage day-to-day HR operations including benefits administration, onboarding and offboarding, performance management, staffing and recruiting, and acting as a strategic partner to interpret policies and apply HR best practices for managers and individual contributors. Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day HR operations with a focus on benefits administration
- Oversee talent management processes to support development and performance
- Manage onboarding and offboarding activities
- Direct performance management programs and cycles
- Maintain accurate HR files and records
- Oversee position management to align roles with needs
- Facilitate new employee orientation
- Act as a strategic partner to interpret company policies and apply best practices for management and staff
- Take ownership of daily HR and recruiting activities in Groveport, OH
- Build strong relationships with leadership and employees to strengthen HR operations and culture
- Drive recruitment efforts to shape the team’s success
- Collaborate with department managers on HR matters to support their responsibilities
- Provide leadership and advisory support to management to achieve operations objectives
- Spend 25 percent of time on the floor to stay connected with the workplace and gauge the pulse of the environment
- Provide employee relations counseling
- Assist with investigations and resolution of employee relations issues
- Review and propose improvements to HR policies, procedures, and practices
- Monitor staffing levels, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, compensation, promotions, and related metrics
- Identify staffing needs with managers to meet volume projections
- Develop and implement staffing strategies to ensure the right people with the required skills are in place
- Foster an empowered, motivated workforce
- Oversee management of temporary workforce vendors to ensure quality, competitiveness, and contract terms
- Utilize the timekeeping system to collect, store, and analyze pertinent data
- Supervise payroll and employee benefits program administration
- Provide supervisory skills training and compliance training
- Offer one-on-one mentoring with supervisors to improve skills
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or human resources or equivalent work experience
- Three years of progressively responsible HR experience
- One year of recruitment experience
- Thorough knowledge of current employment laws related to recruiting, workers compensation, affirmative action/EEO, wage and hour regulation, and benefits
- Experience in team facilitation and development, along with grievance handling
- Experience working in a fiduciary capacity with confidential relationships with managers and employees
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications
