Job Description
At TForce Freight, the Field Human Resources Manager operates onsite in South Holland, IL, partnering with area leaders to translate HR strategy into practical programs. This role blends advisory support for department managers with hands-on execution across core HR functions, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws while resolving complex employee matters.
Responsibilities
- Designs implementation plans to ensure HR initiatives are executed effectively.
- Solicits feedback from line management to verify HR programs support business priorities.
- Oversees candidate sourcing and workforce planning to promptly fill requisitions with high-caliber candidates.
- Assesses recruiting strategies to measure success and drive process improvements.
- Identifies skill gaps at both the individual and team levels and coordinates development opportunities such as training, special assignments, conferences, or projects.
Requirements
- U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the United States.

- Must reside in the job location or be willing to relocate.
- Bachelor's degree (or internationally comparable degree) or current TFF employee with experience.
- Experience in human resources.
- Willing to travel.
- Experience supervising others.
- Demonstrates a broad understanding of business requirements, identifies cross-functional impacts of problems, and recommends improvements to existing processes or programs.
- Demonstrates knowledge of injury and crash prevention techniques, job methods, and identifies root causes of injuries and auto crashes; recommends prevention activities and corrects unsafe practices and conditions.
- Understands labor and employment laws affecting specific roles; describes wage, hour, and benefit standards; identifies non-compliance in recruitment, interviewing, candidate selection, and discipline and follows procedures to resolve issues with internal and external parties.
- Utilizes talent acquisition practices, adjusts workforce plans to meet business needs, and describes the impact of internal and external forces on future staffing; applies knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- PHR, SPHR, or GPHR (or SHRM equivalent) certification preferred.
