Job Description

This part-time Recruiting Specialist role at Iowa Select Farms in Iowa Falls, IA supports staffing through candidate screenings, outreach, social media posting, content design, and on-site events, with occasional travel.

Responsibilities

  • Contact candidates who have expressed interest via daily outreach calls.
  • Screen applicants to assess fit, identify talent and potential, and flag any concerns.
  • Monitor openings and prioritize outreach to locations with higher hiring needs.
  • Collaborate with the recruitment team to refine processes and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Understand the duties of all Iowa Select Farms roles to clearly communicate responsibilities to candidates.
  • Coordinate with recruitment platform representatives to discuss strategy, priorities, and budgeting.
  • Identify and attend career days, job fairs, and events near farm sites with openings.
  • Propose innovative approaches to increase effectiveness, including ad performance analysis, new platforms, and audience targeting; share ideas with supervisor.
  • Update applicants on application status and answer additional questions.
  • Provide ongoing updates to hiring managers and HR on leads until positions are filled.
  • Assist with posting and advertising on various recruiting platforms.
  • Support the preparation and execution of the summer internship program.
  • Communicate promptly with supervisor and team about updates and essential information.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish required.
  • 3 years of Recruiting and Sourcing experience required.
  • 3 years of sourcing candidates via social media platforms required.
  • 1+ years of experience in Human Resources/Recruiting or related field preferred.
  • Agricultural background or knowledge of the industry preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; familiarity with recruitment platforms helps.
  • Customer service or outbound calling experience preferred.
  • Available to consistently work 25-30 hours per week.
  • Strong communication and networking abilities; initiative, problem-solving, creativity; capable of working independently and as part of a team; attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • May involve occasional travel.
  • Experience using recruiting platforms such as LinkedIn, Indeed, and Facebook to source candidates.
  • Position requires in-person work location.
