Senior Human Resources Generalist
Job Description
Senior HR Generalist accountable for shaping HR policy, ensuring compliance, overseeing onboarding, employee relations, and benefits across multiple locations for a growing construction company.
Responsibilities
- Direct the creation, rollout, and enforcement of HR policies and procedures across all locations
- Lead full-cycle recruitment: posting roles, screening applicants, conducting interviews, and onboarding new hires
- Maintain compliant personnel files, I-9s, and employee records for a multi-state workforce
- Administer benefits enrollment (medical, PTO, sick time, paid holidays) and serve as the primary point of contact for benefits questions
- Develop, update, and maintain the employee handbook and related policy documents
- Ensure compliance with FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, and applicable state labor laws across OK, MO, and TX
- Handle employee relations matters including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and documentation
- Coordinate performance review processes and support managers with documentation
- Support training and certification tracking (safety training, licenses, required compliance training)
- Manage offboarding processes including exit interviews, final pay compliance, and unemployment claims
- Partner with the Controller on payroll-related compliance and reporting
- Travel to company locations across Oklahoma, Missouri, and Texas as needed
- Apply SHRM best practices to build scalable HR processes for a growing, fluctuating workforce
- Train HR team as needed
Requirements
- SHRM certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) required
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a senior-level HR role
- Proven ability to direct HR policy and procedures for a growing organization
- Construction industry experience is a significant benefit
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance, including multi-state considerations
- Experience building or refining HR processes in a growing or under-resourced environment
- Excellent communication, organizational, and judgment skills
- Ability to manage HR for a workforce of 100+ employees with fluctuating headcount
- Willingness and ability to travel to locations in OK, MO, and TX

Reporting Structure
This position reports to the COO and Controller and works closely with leadership to align HR practices with business operations across all locations.
Compensation
Salary: USD 71,000 per year
