Senior Manager, Human Resources Business Partner
Job Description
Alterra Mountain Company invites a strategic Senior Manager, HR Business Partner to advise senior leaders and align people initiatives with business objectives, driving performance, engagement, and organizational effectiveness. This role concentrates on employee relations and the ongoing optimization of HR operations and processes within a hybrid Denver environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead proactive employee relations efforts, offering guidance, interpreting policies, and resolving issues.
- Provide guidance and support to navigate change and uncertainty as the organization undergoes transitions.
- Collaborate with leadership to design and implement HR strategies that support organizational changes across strategic, structural, technological, and people-focused dimensions.
- Partner with business leaders to identify succession needs and talent opportunities integrated into long-range planning.
- Identify and develop high potential employees to ensure future leadership readiness for critical roles.
- Drive smooth onboarding for new hires and effective offboarding experiences for departing staff.
- Prioritize retention of key talent by implementing strategies that maintain motivation and commitment.
- Work with managers to create and promote career development opportunities, fostering growth and advancement.
- Assist managers in implementing performance management standards with regular evaluations and timely feedback.
- Maintain transparent communication channels to address concerns, manage expectations, and build trust across the organization.
- Serve as a steward of HR policies and procedures, including collecting feedback, conducting audits, and continuously refining HR data and services.
- Act as a strategic advisor to leaders, providing coaching as they navigate change and lead their teams.
- Manage a direct-report team consisting of a Senior HR Generalist and an HR Coordinator.
Requirements
- Eight or more years of progressive HR experience with geographically distributed employee populations.
- Deep knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and organizational behavior.
- Proven track record handling complex employee relations issues and driving organizational change.
- Experience facilitating talent management processes, including talent reviews and succession planning.
- Strong ability to influence, build relationships, and communicate across all organizational levels.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Experience in fast-paced, high-growth, or matrixed environments is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field is preferred.
- Professional or lived experience engaging with diverse audiences, including underrepresented communities, in culturally competent ways.
