Responsibilities

  • Own complex, business-critical searches from strategy through close
  • Lead recruiting across multiple levels while balancing immediate hiring needs and longer-term talent pipelines
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the business by clarifying why a hire matters, defining the right profile, challenging assumptions thoughtfully, and guiding hiring teams toward clear, timely decisions
  • Design and execute a sourcing strategy per search, including target company and talent pool mapping
  • Engage passive candidates using direct outreach, employee referrals, recruiting technology, and agency partnerships
  • Provide candidates a compelling reason to consider Shawmut by connecting business direction and opportunities to individual priorities
  • Conduct deep candidate assessment by looking for evidence against role requirements, improving interview questions, and turning feedback into well-supported decisions
  • Apply market intelligence on competitors, compensation, talent availability, and organizational structures
  • Identify search obstacles early and adjust approach when results are not coming through
  • Lead offer and closing strategy, understanding candidate motivations and anticipating competing offers and concerns
  • Maintain recruiting momentum by establishing a consistent cadence with hiring teams and using data to surface priorities and risks
  • Drive accountability for next steps with data-informed tracking
  • Contribute to team development by sharing knowledge, mentoring colleagues, and recommending improvements to tools, processes, and recruiting practices

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience recruiting talent for mission-critical construction projects, such as data centers or other technically complex, uptime-sensitive facilities
  • 8+ years of recruiting experience
  • Proven track record independently delivering complex, difficult-to-fill, or business-critical searches
  • Credibility to advise senior leaders, influence hiring strategy, and respectfully challenge hiring teams when evidence points elsewhere
  • Strong sourcing and relationship-building skills, including success engaging and closing passive or highly sought-after candidates
  • Thoughtful assessment approach, including the ability to probe beyond a résumé and connect experience to role demands
  • Strong business judgment and comfort navigating ambiguity, competing priorities, and sensitive conversations with minimal direction
  • Recruiting operational discipline, comfort using data and technology, and an improvement mindset
  • Collaborative approach and willingness to share what you know

Benefits

  • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
  • 401(K) with Company Match, with a company match up to 4% of eligible pay
