Job Description

Hilton’s Las Vegas property seeks an on-site Manager of Human Resources to guide a comprehensive HR agenda across hotel operations, balancing employee relations, recruitment coordination, policy communications, compliance, and engagement initiatives. This role partners closely with the Director of Human Resources to foster a respectful, high-performing work environment for Team Members and managers alike.

Responsibilities

Support the hotel's commitment to providing an environment that treats Team Members with dignity, respect, and fairness.
Proactively address day-to-day issues with managers, identify practical solutions to a range of HR matters, and recommend appropriate action to the Director of Human Resources.
Assist the Director of Human Resources in conducting internal investigations; maintain accurate and complete investigation records; support the development of solutions to resolve issues.
Assist in maintaining and updating property Policies & Procedures; coordinate the communication and distribution of these guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Support unemployment compliance, participate in unemployment hearings, and assist in preparing witnesses for testimony as necessary.
Maintain awareness of union activity on property; escalate concerns to the Director of Human Resources as appropriate.
Maintain working knowledge of the property CBA; assist in communicating and training department heads and managers on CBA policies.
Assist with the coordination and execution of all recruitment activities, including the sourcing and selection of qualified candidates in partnership with department heads.
Assist with all employment-related activities, including offers of employment, onboarding, relocation, and required new hire paperwork.
Partner with departments to provide proactive coaching to Team Members; assist with developmental plans and terminations as needed.
Ensure all termination paperwork is properly completed (e.g., exit interview, return of all hotel-issued property, locker inventory) and that the HRIS is updated accordingly to reflect separation of employment.
Support and help drive Team Member recognition and engagement programs, including engagement activities and celebrations.
Monitor the Workers' Compensation process and procedures; maintain related tracking and documentation; liaise with the third-party administrator as necessary.
Process requests from federal, state, or private entities, including but not limited to wage garnishments, subpoenas, and release of information requests; partner with the Director of Human Resources as needed.
Actively participate in the delivery and coordination of the Team Member Engagement Survey, including follow-up action plans.
Maintain the security and confidentiality of all pertinent information throughout the hotel, including all Human Resources records.
Maintain awareness of labor relations activity on property; partner with the Director of Human Resources, General Manager, and regional support, and take approved action as necessary.
Assist with all Human Resources activities and projects as needed.

Requirements

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience, with at least 1–2 years at the manager or senior generalist level.
Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
Experience supporting employee relations matters, including investigations and progressive discipline, preferred.
Experience in a union environment and familiarity with collective bargaining agreement administration preferred.
Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to coordinate multiple activities and projects with a strong sense of urgency, prioritizing and completing assignments with effective follow-through.
Self-starter with the ability to manage competing priorities in a team-focused environment.
Pragmatic problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise independent and sound judgment.
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both verbally and in writing, including conveying difficult or sensitive information to Team Members and Managers.
Requires a high level of interaction with all members of staff, exchanging ideas, information, and opinions to formulate policies and procedures and arrive jointly at decisions and solutions.
Engaging, approachable personal presence consistent with luxury hospitality standards.
Bilingual communication skills a plus, but not required.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager offers proactive guidance across all HR areas, including employee relations, performance management, development, diversity, equity and inclusion, and advisory support on HR matters. The role serves all team members to benefit both individuals and Goodwill as a whole.

Responsibilities

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal requirements governing day-to-day team member management to reduce legal risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
Prioritize retention by analyzing turnover data, identifying reasons for turnover, and presenting findings to design initiatives that improve retention.
Collaborate with management to strengthen work relationships, boost morale, and enhance productivity and retention.
Support the creation, reinforcement, and advancement of Goodwill culture and team member engagement.
Contribute input on business unit restructurings, workforce planning, and succession planning.
Work with management and other HR teammates to conduct team member relations needs assessments for developing training programs, career paths, and mission services.
Review corrective actions, exit forms, and other team member documents for accurate data and appropriate language and action; co-recommend exit decisions with management.
