Talent Acquisition and Retention Lead
Job Description
MEDRINA - CORPORATE TEAM seeks a Talent Acquisition and Retention Lead for a full-time, remote role based in Chicago, IL. This position balances non-clinical recruitment (50%) with employee retention initiatives (50%) and reports to the VP of HR.
Location and Compensation
Location: Chicago, IL (remote). Salary: USD 80,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process and the applicant tracking system (ATS), including job postings, candidate sourcing, resume screening, interviewing, scheduling, selection, and offer negotiations.
- Source candidates through job boards, professional networks, LinkedIn, referrals, and passive outreach; implement innovative sourcing strategies to build short- and long-term candidate pipelines.
- Develop and execute diverse recruitment strategies and channels, employing advanced techniques (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search) to engage passive and active candidates and shorten time-to-fill.
- Partner with hiring managers to define staffing needs, create formal job descriptions, establish selection criteria, interview scorecards, and hiring timelines.
- Ensure a compliant, consistent, and professional candidate experience aligned with employer branding standards.
- Maximize current systems and apply approved, ethical AI practices where appropriate.
- Remain informed about federal and state hiring laws and regulatory requirements.
- Achieve retention KPI by maintaining a new staff retention rate of 90%.
- Develop formal job descriptions for all positions and support onboarding programs to boost early engagement and productivity via training plans in partnership with the VP of HR and hiring managers.
- Track new-employee progress through regular check-ins (30, 60, 90 days) and other formal/informal methods; assist in assimilating new hires.
- Report on new-hire progress and training needs to the VP of HR and hiring managers; conduct and improve exit interviews with actionable analysis.
- Analyze exit data to identify trends and monthly insights for the VP of HR; drive improvements to onboarding and orientation using new technologies in a remote setting.
- Develop and manage employee engagement and development initiatives to foster meaningful connections in remote work environments.
- Use data and metrics to assess the effectiveness of talent acquisition and retention initiatives; present monthly reports on metrics to the VP of HR.
- Collaborate with the VP of HR to update compensation planning and refine recruiting and talent-management workflows for efficiency and scalability.
- Ensure all hiring practices comply with EEOC, federal, and state laws; deliver training to hiring teams on recruitment practices as needed.
- Support HR audits and reporting related to recruitment and staffing data; promote an inclusive culture across hiring, selection, and retention.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in HR, communications, psychology, marketing, or a related field; or 10 years of recruitment and selection experience with SHRM-PHR/CP certification.
- Minimum of 5 years in talent acquisition with proficiency in ATS and HRIS platforms, MS Office suite (Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and Adobe products.
- Demonstrated expertise in building candidate pipelines, passive sourcing, social media recruiting, and AI-enabled recruiting tools.
- Experience designing and delivering talent retention initiatives; prior HR coordinator or generalist experience is a plus, with understanding of broader HR functions.
