Job Description
The Talent Acquisition Partner will serve as a lead recruiter and talent ambassador for Doane University, working closely with hiring managers to identify, attract, and hire candidates aligned with the University’s long-term workforce needs. This onsite role in Crete, Nebraska focuses on proactive sourcing, candidate pipeline development, and end-to-end partnership across recruitment and onboarding.
Role Overview
Reporting to the University President through the Human Resources division, the Talent Acquisition Partner partners with hiring managers across the hiring lifecycle. The position emphasizes strategic recruiting, relationship building, and thoughtful candidate evaluation while supporting onboarding and general HR operations, including special projects. This role maintains a consistent standard of customer service for employees throughout the University.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify, attract, and hire employees who advance the University’s mission.
- Seek and develop relationships with talented professionals, including passive candidates.
- Build robust candidate pipelines using strategic sourcing, networking, social media, direct outreach, and ongoing relationship building.
- Advise hiring managers throughout recruitment and onboarding on hiring strategies, candidate evaluation, interview best practices, and successful employee integration.
- Support general HR operations and special projects while providing exceptional customer service to University employees.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least two years of progressively responsible recruiting or talent acquisition experience.
- Proven ability to source and engage passive candidates through networking, social media, and direct outreach.
- Experience managing multiple recruitment processes simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively identify, source, and recruit qualified candidates.
- Strong interviewing and candidate assessment capabilities.
- Ability to build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Confident and professional telephone presence.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to initiate conversations with individuals at all organizational levels.
- Ability to represent Doane University with enthusiasm, professionalism, and authenticity.
- Ability to manage numerous searches simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, including prioritizing changing workloads in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of employment laws and recruitment compliance.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to coach hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace and HR information systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree.
- Experience in an HR Generalist role.
- Experience using an applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Experience in a higher education setting.
