Job Description

Turner Construction Company invites you to join as a Talent Acquisition Recruiter. This is a full-time, onsite role based in Walnut Creek, CA, with travel to project sites. The position offers a competitive total compensation package with a salary range of USD 95,000 to 135,000 per year. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field and at least 3 years of experience are required. The role focuses on managing the talent acquisition lifecycle for Business Center 5 requisitions for experienced hires and involves engaging across project sites as needed.

What you will do

  • Promote Turner’s culture and values while contributing new approaches, policies, and procedures to improve Talent Acquisition services. Champion Diversity and Inclusion initiatives across the company.
  • Collaborate with regional business unit hiring managers to define talent needs and job requirements, ensuring timely requisition fulfillment.
  • Post requisitions on the applicant tracking system and across social media platforms.
  • Identify and screen qualified applicants to determine best fit for roles.
  • Share candidate short lists with hiring managers and coordinate interview scheduling.
  • Draft and extend offer letters, manage the background screening process, and initiate onboarding.
  • Proactively build and maintain a talent pipeline, leveraging multiple sourcing resources and techniques.
  • Research and engage talent for open requisitions using social media platforms and resume databases.
  • Administer Diversity and Inclusion programs to attract diverse applicant pools.
  • Develop strong partnerships with HR, BU Operations teams, hiring managers, and key stakeholders to deliver excellent service.
  • Partner with regional HR/Operations and other BUs to expedite internal candidate mobility and transfers, supporting the internal mobility process and ETS content.
  • Data mine ETS to identify internal candidates based on capability, mobility, and availability.
  • Contribute ideas to improve overall effectiveness of the HR Talent Acquisition team and apply lean concepts to work efficiently.
  • Develop and promote new strategies and programs to attract applicants and address acquisition challenges.
  • Collaborate with local and regional BU leaders, hiring managers, HR teams, and marketing to position Turner as an Employer of Choice in talent acquisition.
  • Participate in company-wide HR initiatives and other duties as assigned.

What we require

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field, plus 3 years of progressive Talent Acquisition experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Construction or construction-related industry experience or experience within a mid-size organization (10,000+ employees) is preferred.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of business and construction operations and Talent Acquisition policies, operations, and processes.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter and other related social media platforms is preferred.
  • High energy self-starter with advanced Talent Acquisition skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands.
  • Professional verbal and written business communication skills, with excellent interpersonal abilities and follow-up practices.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all employee levels, management, and candidates; strong integrity and discretion with confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating with others; detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Comfort implementing new TA programs and processes and meeting deadlines; solid problem solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Some travel required across Business Center 5 and local project sites.
