Chewy is hiring a Sr. Human Resources Administrator in Reno, NV (onsite) to support the human resources function with day-to-day administrative tasks and to serve as the first point-of-contact for employees who have HR-related questions. This role contributes to orientation delivery, time off and payroll support, employee record maintenance, and HR documentation updates.
Role Overview
The Sr. Human Resources Administrator provides administrative support to HR as needed, including correspondence generation, record keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry. The position also acts as the first point-of-contact for employees regarding Human Resources issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site new employee orientations to ensure employees understand benefit plans, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor the “call-off line” and process additional time off requests to support accurate absenteeism tracking.
- Process punch and payroll adjustments to ensure time sheet accuracy, including processing changes within required deadlines.
- Maintain employee files, initiate drug and background screenings, and complete routine file audits.
- Write, revise, edit, and proofread company policies and procedures and related HR documentation as needed.
- Use electronic benefits bulletin boards and other communication vehicles to share HR information.
- Produce and maintain the company telephone directory.
- Perform other HR generalist duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (major in business or human resources preferred).
- 1 to 3 years of experience administering general human resources duties (preferred).
- Computer skills and ability to learn HRIS systems, including Paychex or Kronos.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication, presentation skills, and excellent attention to detail, including punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Compensation
The hourly range for this role is $24.03 - $36.05.
