We are seeking a dependable Human Resources and Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processing, onboarding, benefits administration, and HR compliance for our construction operations. This hybrid role in Williamston, NC combines administrative accuracy with daily employee support, contributing to smooth payroll cycles, seamless onboarding, and compliant HR practices. The position carries a yearly salary of USD 47,000 and requires an associate degree along with hands-on experience in HR and payroll tasks.

Responsibilities
- Process semi-monthly and monthly payroll for salaried, hourly, full-time, and part-time employees
- Review and reconcile electronic timecards for accuracy, including regular time, overtime, and paid time off
- Manage payroll deductions including taxes, benefits, garnishments, and retirement contributions
- Maintain payroll records and generate reports for accounting, management, and audits
- Assist with payroll tax reporting and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Coordinate onboarding activities including background checks, I‑9 verification, orientation, and employee setup
- Support offboarding processes and assist with exit interviews
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment and act as a liaison with insurance and benefits providers
- Maintain employee personnel records and HR documentation
- Respond to employee questions regarding policies, payroll, benefits, and HR procedures
- Support management with performance reviews and employee relations processes
- Assist with maintaining compliance with FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and other employment regulations
- Help maintain and update employee handbook policies and HR procedures
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in payroll processing and/or human resources administration
- Associate degree (Required) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
- Proficiency with ADP, Paychex, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office
- English language proficiency required
- Location: Williamston, NC 27892 (hybrid remote work arrangement) and ability to commute as needed
