Division Human Resource Manager
Job Description
The Division Human Resource Manager for D.R. Horton plays a key role in supporting people operations at the division level while serving as a bridge to corporate HR. This onsite position in Austin, TX focuses on HR compliance, new hire and onboarding coordination, recruiting support, employee relations, and HR administration tied to payroll and workforce changes.
In this role, you will guide employees through onboarding, help keep division HR practices aligned with company standards, and coordinate with Corporate HR leadership on escalated employee relations matters. With a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, you will also support managers on staffing processes, company policy awareness, and staff training, while maintaining key HR documentation such as the division organizational chart.
What you’ll do
- Ensure all HR regulations are followed.
- Partner with managers to post open positions, review applications, and assist with recruiting processes.
- Perform new hire processing and coordinate new employee setup with Corporate IT.
- Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding activities both in person and virtually using Microsoft Teams.
- Support division payroll by reviewing, correcting, and obtaining approval of employee timesheets.
- Process workforce-related actions including salary increases, bonuses, commissions, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
- Administer the worker’s compensation process for the division.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee relations concerns and escalate issues as needed to corporate HR leadership.
- Assist managers by keeping them aware of company policies relevant to certain management responsibilities.
- Support training for staff.
- Plan and coordinate employee engagement events and initiatives.
- Answer employee questions related to benefits and HR policies.
- Maintain the division organizational chart.
- Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase goodwill and profit of the company.
- Travel overnight twice annually for the Corporate HR Conference.
What you bring
- Three to five years of related experience and/or training.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Proficiency with MS Office and email.
- Previous experience with ATS and HRIS platforms required; Taleo and/or PeopleSoft preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
