Job Description
The Suquamish Indian Tribe Health Division is seeking a Healthcare Recruiter to support rapid growth across multiple service areas by developing and implementing recruitment strategies for healthcare talent. This onsite role in Suquamish, WA focuses on coordinating key recruiting activities while maintaining compliant credentialing and accurate HR records throughout the hiring lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead accountability for recruitment, orientation, and culture promotion in partnership with Health Division leadership.
- Verify credentialing and licensing requirements for active state licenses, certifications, and scope of practice, including confirming license status through state systems prior to hire.
- Track annual license and training expirations, manage renewals, and monitor compliance risk.
- Collect and review immunization records for healthcare staff prior to hire, ensuring onboarding and credentialing documentation is complete before the hire date.
- Coordinate interview logistics and maintain rapid response related to onboarding outcomes.
- Forward qualified candidates to hiring managers for timely review.
- Initiate standardized interview packets when requested, including structured interview questions and preparing and managing interview materials.
- Maintain a database of potential candidates for future opportunities and build candidate pipelines for high-demand roles.
- Conduct reference checks and criminal history background verifications.
- Negotiate job offers and employment terms with selected candidates.
- Provide proactive outreach to professional associations and targeted talent networks, including healthcare professionals and related agencies.
- Use social media, job boards, recruitment platforms, and the HRIS operating system to advertise openings.
- Maintain integrity and confidentiality of employment records using human resources management system software.
- Provide guidance and support to candidates throughout the recruitment process.
- Prepare and present recruitment reports and metrics for Health Division management on staffing statistics.
- Coordinate advertisement preparation for internal and external employment opportunities, including collaborating with career referral firms when necessary.
- Work with hiring managers and interview teams so job requirements and expectations are understood and candidates are evaluated against appropriate criteria.
- Answer questions from employees, supervisors, and external sources by providing basic information about HR and employment processes.
- Understand work classification status and how it affects employee benefits for finalizing onboarding.
- Maintain basic knowledge of benefit programs (group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits) and serve as a backup to the Benefits Specialist during onboarding.
- Follow up regularly with hiring managers and candidates to support recruitment timeliness.
- Track and report metrics designed to measure and predict staffing activity and collaborate with leadership to forecast workforce needs.
- Coordinate employee identification badge processing and issuance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field, plus at least two years of experience in recruitment or a related field.
- Previous experience in healthcare recruitment or staffing desired.
- Strong understanding of healthcare industry roles and requirements.
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and/or HRIS recruitment software.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organizational, time management, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining confidentiality.
- Proven track record of successful candidate placements.
- Ability to travel as needed for job fairs, networking events, and client meetings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Human Resources Information Systems software.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse cultures; specific experience with indigenous communities and culture desired.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, including word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and office procedures.
- Ability to compose routine business correspondence and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Adhere to all professional and ethical behavior standards.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required: reading, distance, computer, and color vision.
- Talking and hearing are essential for communication.
- State and Tribal background check.

Work Location and Job Conditions
- Principal job site is the Administrative office at the Suquamish Tribal Center; hybrid location may be required to fit Health Division recruitment priorities.
- General office environment with appropriate lighting, heat, ventilation, and necessary equipment.
- May require frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, twisting, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions; prolonged periods of sitting, keyboarding, and reading may occur.
- Vision, hearing, and communication abilities are required, including reading, distance, computer, and color vision.
- Deadlines are frequent and employees must handle regular interruptions.
Supervisory responsibilities: There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.
Interpersonal contacts: Extensive contact with Health Industry professionals internally and externally, including coordination with other Tribal Government staff. Frequent interactions may involve confidential or sensitive matters, requiring professional demeanor and strict adherence to confidentiality.
