Human Resource Business Partner
Job Description
Amentum is seeking a Human Resource Business Partner to provide on-site HR partnership and employee relations support in Falls Church, VA, with an active TS/SCI clearance.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the initial point of contact for employees and managers on HR administration and execution across staffing, compensation, leaves, recognition and morale, training and development, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, and manager coaching.
- Facilitate communication between union representatives and management, acting as a liaison to ensure understanding and adherence to the union contract, mediating discussions, addressing concerns, and fostering constructive dialogue.
- Monitor compliance with labor contract terms; collaborate with management and union officials to align policies with the negotiated contract and proactively address potential violations with recommended corrective actions.
- Partner with recruiting to support onboarding actions.
- Coordinate with on-site Security and the corporate Employee Relations team on employee relations issues, investigations, and related responsibilities.
- Track HR metrics for the assigned contract to inform analysis and decision making.
- Act as a liaison between employees, leaders, and corporate departments including benefits and payroll.
- Provide proactive guidance to managers and employees on performance management, coaching, career development, counseling, disciplinary actions, communications and training, employee relations issues, and interpretation of employment laws and company policies (PPI).
- Support compliance efforts by communicating, disseminating, and implementing company policies and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support program HR and HRIS activities, validating HRIS data accuracy, org chart alignment, option year Service Contract Act pay rate, wage, health and welfare changes, service bridge processing, vacation/leave information, and other key data; identify errors and coordinate corrections with leadership.
- Respond to employment-related questions from applicants, employees, and supervisors; refer complex matters to appropriate staff and ensure timely follow-up and closure.
- Support program and company initiatives by tracking and preparing reports for analysis and distribution; identify best practices and recommend improvements to the employee and manager experience, including onboarding, training, and performance management.
- Promote change awareness by staying informed on HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant HR experience.
- On-site work required: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- U.S. citizenship with an active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking abilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to perform detail-oriented work and meet deadlines.
