Human Resource Coordinator
Job Description
Aimbridge Hospitality is seeking a Human Resource Coordinator for onsite work in Chicago, IL to support management on HR issues, coordinate processes, maintain employee records, assist with recruitment, and ensure compliance across Aimbridge properties.
Responsibilities
- Engage guests and associates with a consistently attentive, courteous, and service‑oriented demeanor.
- Adhere to Aimbridge Hospitality attendance standards; scheduling varies to meet property needs.
- Maintain professional appearance and grooming in line with the company dress code.
- Follow and enforce Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to promote safe, efficient operations.
- Consistently demonstrate attentiveness, friendliness, helpfulness, and courtesy to guests, managers, and colleagues.
- Support internal and external transfer requests and related procedures.
- Assist managers with recruitment processes and related issues.
- Coordinate and conduct applicant drug screens, reference checks, background checks, motor vehicle checks, and SSN verification.
- Maintain logs for applicant flow, drug screens, orientations, and transfer requests.
- Create and maintain new hire and personnel files and input data into HRIS.
- Support new employee orientations.
- Ensure all hiring activities comply with local, state, and federal laws and company policies.
- Maintain accurate employee records and files (including interview documents and I-9 forms); assist with payroll records per policy and report employee relations issues to HR management.
- Develop and sustain filing systems.
- Produce HR data reports as needed; answer and triage phone messages.
- Prepare and type office correspondence using a computer.
- Serve as an HR subject matter expert and participate on project teams.
- Provide training to new hires on HR processes, programs, policies, and information systems.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, prepare accurate documents, and maintain proper telephone etiquette.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required with at least 2 years of HR experience.
- Related college coursework is a plus.
- Solid foundational knowledge of basic human resources concepts.
- Proficient with Windows operating system and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to assess options and make timely, accurate decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Ability to multitask effectively.
- Skilled at anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving workplace problems.
- Capacity to synthesize complex information from multiple sources and adapt to constraints.
- Active listening; able to understand, clarify, and resolve concerns from colleagues and guests.
- Comfort working with financial data and basic arithmetic.
