Job Description

Based in West Point, GA, the HR and Safety Manager leads human resources and workplace safety functions for Daesol America Georgia, reporting to the HR Head of Team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily HR operations at the facility, including employee relations, attendance support, policy administration, and employee communication.
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and orientation for hourly and salaried staff.
  • Maintain accurate records such as personnel files, training records, disciplinary documentation, and confidential HR information.
  • Provide guidance to supervisors and staff on policies, workplace expectations, attendance, conduct, and performance issues.
  • Assist management with corrective action, investigations, conflict resolution, and employee concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Support payroll, timekeeping, benefits communication, and HR reporting as needed.
  • Foster teamwork, improve morale, and support employee recognition and reward programs.
  • Lead the facility safety program and cultivate a strong safety culture across all departments and shifts.
  • Ensure required safety training is completed, documented, and maintained for all associates.
  • Monitor OSHA standards, company safety policies, PPE requirements, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Administer and track PPE programs and related safety supplies.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, incident reviews, and implement follow-up corrective actions.
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation claims, accident investigations, return-to-work programs, and injury documentation.
  • Partner with supervisors to identify safety risks and implement preventive measures.
  • Maintain OSHA logs, safety reports, training files, and other required compliance documentation.
  • Support emergency preparedness, evacuation procedures, and safety communication.
  • Collaborate with production leadership to support staffing, attendance, training, performance, and workforce planning.
  • Assist with production-related HR reporting and workforce documentation.
  • Support employees and supervisors in a factory environment.

Requirements

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of labor laws, OSHA standards and regulations, and workers’ compensation laws
  • Experience handling confidential employee information
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, with emphasis on Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
  • Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and follow-up skills
  • Reliable attendance, sound professional judgment, and a solid work ethic
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on production and employee needs

Position Summary

The HR and Safety Manager leads the human resources and workplace safety functions for a manufacturing facility. This role oversees employee relations, recruiting support, onboarding, training documentation, compliance, safety programs, PPE administration, workers’ compensation coordination, OSHA compliance, and employee engagement initiatives. It serves as a key partner to plant leadership, supervisors, and employees to maintain a safe, compliant, productive, and positive work environment. The role also supervises the HR/Safety Assistant, who supports HR administration, safety documentation, PPE, production reports, training records, and employee recognition activities.

Safety and Compliance Management

  • Lead the facility safety program and promote a strong safety culture across all departments and shifts
  • Ensure required safety training is completed, documented, and maintained for all associates
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA standards, company safety policies, PPE requirements, and workplace safety procedures
  • Administer and track PPE programs, safety supplies, and related employee safety requirements

  • Partner with production leadership to support staffing, attendance, training, employee performance, and workforce planning
  • Assist with production-related HR reporting and workforce documentation
  • Support employees and supervisors in a factory environment

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work may be required
  • Intermittent physical activity such as walking, bending, reaching, and standing
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing/factory environment
  • May require supporting different shifts based on business needs
  • May require extended hours to cover production schedules, investigations, audits, or urgent HR/safety matters
