Job Description

Chick-fil-A Supply is seeking an on-site Human Resources Business Partner (On-Site Talent Lead) to support its Kansas City Distribution Center in Olathe, KS. This role partners with operations leadership to strengthen culture and engagement, provide employee relations support, and manage key HR and talent initiatives, including payroll and HR systems administration.

Role Overview

As an on-site HR Business Partner, you will serve as a trusted resource for Team Members and leaders. You will help translate business needs into people strategies by supporting workforce planning, advising on employment-related matters, and overseeing core HR and talent processes within the distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive employee engagement across all departments by reinforcing a culture aligned with Chick-fil-A Supply values of care, safety, and excellence.
  • Provide employee relations support, including conducting investigations as needed and partnering with leaders to resolve workplace concerns professionally and with sound judgment.
  • Build strong relationships within the Distribution Center by spending time in the operation, listening to Team Members, and supporting a positive workplace experience.
  • Advise leaders on employment-related topics such as performance management, team morale, workplace accommodations, policy interpretation, and employment law compliance.
  • Partner with the Regional Talent Leader and Legal team to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements while supporting organizational goals.
  • Monitor workforce trends, compensation insights, and key people metrics to deliver recommendations that support business needs and continuous improvement.
  • Support recruitment and staffing activities, including coordination for interviews, onboarding support, and workforce planning in collaboration with the Regional Talent Leader.
  • Coordinate and facilitate training sessions and talent development initiatives that strengthen Team Member growth and leader effectiveness.
  • Oversee employee records and HR systems administration to ensure data accuracy and support workforce metric reporting and key performance indicators.
  • Manage payroll administration for the Distribution Center and provide hands-on support to Team Members and leaders, including resolving payroll and HR systems access questions.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as needed to meet evolving operational needs.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience.
  • 3+ years supporting operations in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or warehousing environments.
  • Experience advising leaders on employee relations, performance management, and workplace policies.
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations and addressing employee concerns.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, and talent development initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including occasional weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts as business needs require.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, including overnight travel.
  • Proficient English communication (reading, writing, and speaking) to safely follow instructions, complete documentation, and interpret company communications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of HR experience, including 3+ years supporting distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or warehouse operations.
  • Strong background in employee relations, investigations, performance management, and coaching leaders through complex people matters.
  • Experience with workforce metrics, HR KPIs, and business insights to support continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills with the ability to influence leaders at all levels.
  • Comfort working hands-on with payroll questions, HRIS systems, HR processes, and administrative tasks.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems, payroll administration, logistics and warehouse operations, and related technology platforms.
  • Knowledge of employment law, workplace compliance, OSHA and safe work practices, and government regulations affecting Human Resources.
  • Food service distribution experience and Spanish language proficiency are valued differentiators.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).

Work Location and Environment

Onsite role at the Kansas City Distribution Center in Olathe, KS. The work environment is office.
