Human Resources Business Partner Generalist
Job Description
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority Construction & Development team in New York offers a hybrid work setup with one day of telework per week. The salary range is USD 70,285 to 87,857 per year, and the role comes with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support work life, health, education, and career growth. In this Human Resources Business Partner Generalist position, you will provide broad HR support across organizational development and training, HRIS, recruitment, compensation, and leave management, reporting to the Assistant Director, HRBP.
Responsibilities
- Support HR Business Partners in recruitment, hiring, and retention processes, including job postings and resume screening for qualified applicants.
- Conduct background investigations and monitor clearances as needed.
- Track candidates and stages of the employment process, prepare notifications, and schedule interviews for candidates with conditional offers.
- Participate in onboarding of personnel to ensure a smooth integration into the organization.
- Represent the team at job fairs, diversity events, and outreach activities to attract talent.
- Create proposed salary analysis worksheets to inform compensation discussions.
- Prepare general correspondence regarding salary adjustments to employees and to representatives from other MTA agencies.
- Assist with job fairs and employee retention programs and events.
- Help update HRIS and Operations data to maintain accuracy and data integrity.
- Contribute as a key member of the MTA C&D People (HR) and MTA People (HR) teams to achieve department goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Industrial/Labor Relations, or related field.
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of related experience.
- Proven ability to interact with managers and employees at all organizational levels and work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in PeopleSoft HRIS, Microsoft Office Suite, or similar applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMS, and ZOOM.

Telework
This position is eligible for telework, currently one day per week. New hires may apply 30 days after the effective date of hire.
