Job Description

On-site HR Coordinator role supporting day-to-day human resources operations on a construction project, reporting to the HR Generalist and serving as a liaison between field employees, project leadership, and HR to ensure efficient processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with on-site onboarding, including new hire orientation, gathering employment documentation, and entering data into HR systems
  • Maintain accurate employee records in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Act as the primary contact for questions related to HR policies, benefits, and procedures
  • Coordinate offboarding tasks, including exit documentation and final payroll communication
  • Collaborate with the HR Generalist to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and project-specific requirements
  • Support recruitment activities such as scheduling interviews, processing candidates, and maintaining applicant records
  • Monitor site-level HR postings, documentation, and audit readiness
  • Document employee concerns and assist in resolution processes to support employee relations
  • Assist in organizing employee engagement initiatives and on-site events
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and organizational information at all times
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR Generalist and project leadership as needed

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • 1–3 years of HR, administrative, or coordination experience; construction, manufacturing, or field-based industries experience preferred
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) with general familiarity of networked computing
  • Experience with HR software such as HRIS or HRMS preferred
  • Understanding of basic employment laws and HR best practices
  • Knowledge of job boards, HR processes, and record-keeping preferred
  • Ability to remain cooperative and professional in high-pressure situations
  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and handle interruptions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to build strong interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to work well in a large professional setting with patience and professionalism
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across departments and leadership levels
  • Commitment to confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information

Salary Range

USD 60,000 - 75,000 per year, depending on experience, with incentives
