Job Description

Achieve Beyond Pediatric Therapy & Autism Services is expanding its HR team on Long Island and seeks a dedicated HR Coordinator for the Melville location. This role serves as the primary HR contact for employee relations and office operations, handling onboarding, benefits and leave administration, HR processing, and reporting while supporting data-driven HR initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main HR presence for the Long Island site, addressing employee relations and office HR needs
  • Lead HR orientations and oversee onboarding for new hires
  • Conduct stay, tenure, and exit interviews, identify trends, and suggest improvements
  • Generate and analyze reports in UKG to identify trends in retention, engagement, and compliance
  • Process HR transactions including hires, separations, status changes, and employee updates
  • Administer benefits and track leaves of absence, including FMLA
  • Maintain HR compliance items such as I-9s, trainings, and required documentation
  • Support unemployment claims, workers' compensation, and employment verification requests
  • Accurately input and maintain employee data in the HR system and reporting trackers
  • Assist with internal communications, presentations, and employee-facing materials
  • Oversee general office coordination and maintenance for the Long Island location
  • Facilitate office engagement initiatives and events
  • Provide reception coverage as needed
  • Support additional HR projects and initiatives as assigned by the Director

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of HR, office administration, or similar experience
  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to work with data, reports, and trends
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with HR systems is a plus, with UKG or similar preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up abilities
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
  • Strong relationship-building skills and effective communication across all levels
  • Demonstrated adaptability and change-management capability
  • Resilient and solution-oriented mindset
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally ascend or descend stairs when approaching or leaving work locations or event venues
  • Occasionally move or lift objects up to 30 pounds, such as files or copy paper
  • Remain seated and focused on a computer or electronic device for up to 90% of the workday
  • Close-range vision to observe details clearly
  • Clear ability to communicate information so others can understand it

Compensation

  • Full-time position at $28-$32 per hour, with overtime as needed
  • Exemption status based on the final hourly rate offered
  • No time off is approved from late September through early November due to benefits enrollment

Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This is an on-site role with no remote option
  • Quarterly travel to the Forest Hills location for staff meetings, with reimbursement
