Pay: USD 33 - 54 per hourly
FLSA: Non-exempt

What You’ll Do
The Human Resources Coordinator provides technical support for core employee processes and compliance efforts, serving as a dependable point of contact for workforce needs. You will support HR activities including onboarding, personnel record maintenance, HRIS administration for the Talent Management team, recruitment support, and employee orientation paperwork.
- Prepare and electronically distribute job postings; post positions on selected websites or publications and research specialized websites.
- Create work instructions for complex or specialized functions.
- Monitor and track budgets and expenditures. Prepare purchase requisitions and track approvals. Verify and process requests, invoices, and procurement and contract administration documents.
- Research, compile, and analyze data. Prepare statistics and reports using Excel, PeopleSoft, PowerPoint, and other systems. Build presentation documents for meetings.
- Maintain a document management system for electronic letters and forms, staying current on changes to databases and software and recommending updates when appropriate.
- Coordinate scheduling across multiple parties, secure rooms as needed, and adjust meetings as requests change.
- Analyze, triage, and respond to Talent Management inquiries, or route requests to the appropriate HR contact and track follow-ups to support timely resolution.
- Maintain the applicant tracking system.
- Assist TM staff in recruitment tasks including contacting candidates, preparing and distributing materials, scheduling pre-employment tests, initiating background checks, and related steps.
- Coordinate requests for temporary staffing services through contracted agencies.
- Process employee data and position changes, voluntary and involuntary terminations, reinstatements, and table changes in the HRIS system, researching and resolving problems as needed.
- Develop standard reports and queries as requested.
- Administer New Employee Orientation paperwork by collecting and processing new hire documents.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding employment opportunities, the application process, employer verifications, and other related questions.
- Establish and maintain employee personnel files, I-9 files, and recruitment files, ensuring required new hire and I-9 documentation is complete.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
What You’ll Need
- High school diploma or GED with 5 years of experience.
- Associate’s degree with 3 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of experience.
- Completed education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field (field of study in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field).
- Experience supporting diverse internal and external customers.
- Experience with collective bargaining unit agreements.
- Experience with HRIS systems including PeopleSoft and NeoGov, including data entry and extracting standardized reports/queries.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and intermediate spreadsheet skills (new spreadsheets, formulas, sorting, charts, and graphs).
- Experience handling high-volume data entry with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong email management skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize, and respond promptly to high volumes.
- Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and federal/state employment laws, plus knowledge of HR Coordinator administrative procedures and Metropolitan Council policies and procedures.
- Advanced skills with Word (tables, mail merge, sorting, templates) and ability to create presentations with graphs and charts.
- Basic internet research skills for recruitment and candidate sourcing.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions and procedure manuals, and write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or clients and maintain confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust priorities with changing workload.
- Intermediate and HRIS abilities, including entering information into HRIS and extracting standardized reports/queries.
- Ability to provide basic client services to the public and other agencies with tact, courtesy, and cooperation.

Hybrid Telework Eligibility
- Eligible for a hybrid (remote and onsite) telework arrangement.
- Permanent residence must be in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
