Human Resources Coordinator
Job Description
The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and project support to Pima JTED’s Human Resources, Benefits, and Payroll functions. The role involves personnel and payroll-related duties that require confidentiality, accuracy, organization, and adherence to district policies and applicable laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support employee onboarding, including preparation of required paperwork, maintenance of personnel records, and new employee orientation.
- Create, maintain, and update accurate and confidential personnel and payroll records in alignment with district policies, procedures, and applicable requirements.
- Assist with recruitment activities such as job postings, application processing, reference and employment verifications, background information gathering, and applicant communication.
- Help prepare and issue employee contracts and other employment-related documents.
- Process and verify personnel documentation related to staffing, employee classifications, training, performance evaluations, compensation, attendance, leaves of absence, and separation from employment.
- Respond to employee and applicant inquiries and provide information regarding district personnel policies, procedures, benefits, and employment practices.
- Assist with the administration of employee benefit programs and workers’ compensation processes.
- Support timekeeping and payroll processes.
- Assist with year-end payroll and human resources activities, including preparation and reconciliation of required records and reports.
- Complete employment verification requests, unemployment claim documentation, and other employment-related forms.
- Compile, prepare, and maintain reports, spreadsheets, correspondence, forms, and other documents related to human resources and payroll activities.
- Provide general administrative and project support to the Human Resources and Payroll functions and assist with department initiatives as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in Human Resources, benefits administration, or payroll.
- Five (5) or more years of administrative experience, or a combination of Human Resources and administrative experience, may substitute for the required HR, benefits, or payroll experience.
- Ability to learn and use cloud-based data management systems.
- Strong computer skills, including document management within network drives, shared platforms, and systems such as Microsoft Teams.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, and Google Workspace, including proficiency with the Mail Merge function.
- Ability to obtain an IVP Finger Print Clearance Card.
- MMR immunization required (unless born prior to January 1, 1957).
- Negative TB test within the last year.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and functions such as CONCATENATE and Text to Columns.
- Experience working in an educational or school district environment.
- Experience using School ERP Pro or comparable school finance, payroll, or HR software.
- Knowledge of applicable labor laws, payroll regulations, HR compliance and best practices, and state and federal requirements.

- Knowledge of office concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to coordinate and complete multiple tasks and assignments efficiently and within required timelines.
- Knowledge of Career and Technical Education.
- Ability to utilize mathematical formulas and apply math functions.

Location and Salary
Location: Tucson, AZ (onsite).
Compensation: USD 19 to 30 per hourly.
