Job Description

The Human Resources Generalist position on-site in Springfield, Missouri, oversees the routine operations of the HR department, including recruitment, payroll and benefits administration, attendance and leave management, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Job Details

Location: Springfield, MO (onsite). Compensation: USD 22 - 28 per hour. Experience: minimum of 3 years in human resources management. Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment activities, including sourcing, pre-screening, scheduling, and conducting interviews.
  • Develop standardized interview questionnaires for all roles.
  • Represent the organization at hiring events, expos, and fairs as needed.
  • Coordinate training, onboarding, and orientation for new hires.
  • Develop, recommend, implement, and enforce personnel policies and procedures.
  • Manage time and attendance, including leave requests and the company attendance policy.
  • Create and maintain the safety program with monthly safety training administration.
  • Administer employee benefits and related programs.
  • Ensure employment practices comply with changing federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Create and update job descriptions as needed.
  • Oversee a performance appraisal system designed to drive high performance.
  • Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback and insights.
  • Assess training needs and monitor the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Lead employee engagement efforts, including monthly lunches, holiday events, annual outings, and recognition activities.
  • Maintain knowledge of HR trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies in talent management and employment law.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least three years of HR management experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Physical requirements: ability to sit for extended periods, as well as stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and reach overhead.
  • Frequent ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
