Job Description

U.S. Merchants seeks a Human Resources Generalist to oversee day-to-day HR operations onsite in Houston, TX, supporting recruiting, onboarding, interviewing, training, evaluations, disciplinary processes, offboarding, policy administration, employee records, employee relations, workers' compensation protocols, and other HR responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day to day HR operations
  • Support recruiting efforts
  • Onboarding
  • Interviewing
  • Conducting training
  • Evaluations
  • Disciplinary forms
  • Off boarding
  • Administer HR policies
  • Maintain employee records
  • Manage employee relations
  • Maintain Worker's Comp protocols
  • Other office administrative duties
  • Other HR responsibilities as needed

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information or sensitive issues in professional manner
  • Strong familiarity with Federal and State Payroll laws
  • Understanding of Federal and State labor and employment regulations
  • Fluent in both English/ Spanish
  • Minimum 5 years HR experience
  • Computer skills - Office, Excel and payroll software (helpful); other HR, benefits, or payroll software a plus
  • Bachelor's degree or Certificate in Human Resources a plus
  • Human Resources: 3 years (Required)
  • Microsoft Office: 3 years (Required)
  • Spanish (Required)
