AWAIC offers an onsite Human Resources Generalist role in Anchorage, AK with a competitive annual salary of USD 73,000. Responsibilities
- Oversee recruiting and hiring coordination, including posting positions, assisting managers with screening, coordinating interviews, and drafting offer letters
- Own onboarding and offboarding processes, covering background checks, new hire orientation, exit interviews, and termination documentation
- Serve as a primary contact for employee questions about HR policies, benefits, leave, and workplace concerns
- Administer benefits with open enrollment support, plan changes, vendor communications, and benefits reconciliation
- Manage workers' compensation processes, including incident reporting, filing claims, insurer coordination, employee leave tracking, payroll reporting, and follow-up to ensure compliance
- Maintain personnel files, HR records, and other compliance documentation
- Support employee relations, performance management, coaching documentation, and corrective action processes
- Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and handbook updates in line with federal, state, and local laws
- Coordinate as a liaison between AWAIC and the PEO for HR matters
- Develop, implement, and manage AWAIC’s volunteer program
- Coordinate required training, certifications, and compliance reporting
- Prepare HR reports and metrics for leadership as needed
- Maintain compliance with applicable employment laws and best practices; review policies to stay compliant
- Stay current on trends and best practices and advise leadership accordingly
- Support culture-building, employee engagement, and retention aligned with the agency’s mission and values
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements

- Ability to understand and follow all agency policies and procedures
- Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Care practices and applying them to care continuity

- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant HR experience
