Job Description

Greenberg Traurig is seeking a Talent Services Generalist in San Diego, offering a hybrid schedule to support two Del Mar area offices. This role covers onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and HR operations for attorneys and professional staff as part of the Talent Services team. Compensation ranges from USD 85,000 to 100,000 annually.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison with the Business Director and staff to address employee relations matters, escalating issues as needed.
  • Assist managers in handling and documenting performance issues, and participate in disciplinary discussions or separations.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding for attorneys and professional staff, including preparing documentation and conducting new-hire orientations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for inquiries related to HR policies, procedures, benefits, and talent services.
  • Maintain accurate and current employee change records in the HRIS system, specifically Workday.
  • Oversee annual benefits open enrollment and coordinate with employees and the shared services benefits team to resolve issues.
  • Provide guidance in administering employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Prepare and maintain reports and assist with leave of absence administration (FMLA, STD, Workers’ Compensation), coordinating with employees and third-party administrators.
  • Lead recruiting efforts for professional staff.
  • Collaborate with managers and attorneys to define job requirements and craft job descriptions.
  • Engage with employment agencies for direct placement and temporary staffing needs.
  • Support the performance review process and related communications in partnership with the Business Director for professional staff.
  • Identify development opportunities and recommend training and development approaches.
  • Create and assist with HR reports, audits, and compliance documentation; provide HR metrics as needed.
  • Manage leaves, time-off policies, internal processes, and plan internal events.
  • Contribute to ongoing HR process improvements and assist other Greenberg Traurig offices as needed.

Position Summary

The Talent Services Generalist provides administrative and operational support to the Talent Services department across onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance.
