Job Description

Marriott International, Inc invites a detail‑oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our onsite team in North Hills, NY. In this role, you will assist management and the HR team with handling employee relations, support onboarding activities, and maintain accurate HRIS records. You will coordinate recruitment steps, drug screens, background checks, transfers, and applicant data for the North Hills location. This position offers a collaborative, on‑site work environment with opportunities to contribute to HR operations across the property.

Location: North Hills, NY (onsite)

Compensation: USD 3,150 - 3,300 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Support management and the leadership team in addressing and resolving human resources matters.
  • Assist employees with internal and external transfer requests and related procedures.
  • Monitor hiring processes and assist managers with recruitment issues.
  • Coordinate and conduct applicant drug screens, reference checks, background checks, motor vehicle checks, and Social Security number verification.
  • Maintain applicant flow, drug screen, orientation, and transfer request logs.
  • Create and maintain new hire and personnel files and enter data into the HRIS.
  • Assist with the orientation of new employees.
  • Ensure recruitment activities comply with all applicable laws and company policies and standards.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and files, including interview documents and I-9 forms.
  • Support payroll data processing and maintenance in line with policies and procedures as needed.
  • Inform HR management of employee relations issues within the division or property.
  • Develop and maintain filing systems.
  • Generate HR data reports as required.
  • Answer phone calls and record messages; prepare and type office correspondence.
  • Serve as an HR subject matter expert and participate on project teams.
  • Train new hires on HR processes, programs, policies, and information systems.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures; maintain a clean, professional appearance and confidentiality of information.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally; prepare written documents accurately and completely; use proper telephone etiquette.
  • Build positive working relationships and support team goals by listening and responding to employee concerns.
  • Move and lift items weighing up to 10 pounds as needed.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by Supervisors.

  • Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.
  • Supervisory experience: None.
