Human Resources Generalist
Job Description
Support the Waukesha/Milwaukee employee group by owning core HR operations across recruiting, relations, compliance, and benefits in an onsite, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Handle day-to-day HR operations and provide guidance to employees and managers
- Manage full-cycle recruitment: job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding
- Maintain employee records and ensure accuracy of HR data
- Support employee relations by addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and reinforcing a positive workplace culture; escalate to the HR Manager when necessary
- Administer benefits programs and assist employees with enrollment and benefits questions
- Ensure HR practices align with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Support performance management activities, including reviews and disciplinary actions
- Coordinate training and development initiatives
- Prepare HR reports and metrics as needed
- Partner with the HR Specialist and HR Manager to support payroll-related processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–4 years of HR experience in a generalist or similar role
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred but not required

Compensation: USD 55,000 - 60,000 per year
Experience: Minimum 2 years
