Responsibilities
- Oversee recruitment for exempt and non-exempt staff; write and place advertisements; ensure recruiting, hiring, and termination processes follow WACOSA procedures and all applicable state and federal regulations.
- Monitor and analyze staff turnover; report findings to the Administrative Team and Board of Directors.
- Manage the employee satisfaction survey process and present results in a measurable format to the Board of Directors.
- Maintain ongoing communication with employees and respond to requests seeking benefit or policy guidance.
- Develop, recommend, and implement personnel policies and procedures; prepare and maintain the employee handbook on policies and procedures.
- Administer benefits, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and annual reevaluation of policies for cost effectiveness.
- Act as Plan Administrator for the 401(k) plan, health insurance plan, and other employee benefit plans as required; complete required yearly audits.
- Maintain required data for OSHA compliance and post the annual report.
- Oversee administration of the workers' compensation program.
- Provide direction for the Safety Committee; take notes and follow up on recommendations, safety drills, and related activities.
- Develop, maintain, and file the Affirmative Action program; prepare and file the EEO-1 Report annually; administer Family Medical Leave requests.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation through professional affiliations, training, and research.
- Advise WACOSA management on Human Resources policies and matters, making or recommending appropriate decisions.
- Act as Compliance Officer by reviewing, developing, implementing, monitoring, documenting, and reporting activities related to the WACOSA Compliance Program.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, with a combination of education and experience considered.
- Three years of HR Generalist experience with applied knowledge of state and federal laws related to human resources, safety, and employee benefits.
- Well rounded HR Generalist background.
- Willing to submit to a motor vehicle check, criminal background check, and a post-offer drug screen.
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
- PHR or SPHR certification is preferred.
