Human Resources Manager
Job Description
ABEC Inc is hiring a full-time, onsite Human Resources Manager in Springfield, MO to lead end-to-end HR operations and support rapid growth.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end recruitment, from headcount approval through onboarding, prioritizing hiring in a fast-growth environment
- Develop and implement retention and engagement strategies to strengthen workforce stability
- Partner with leadership to identify talent needs and create workforce plans
- Act as a trusted advisor to site leadership with guidance on HR best practices
- Collaborate with Global HR to align local initiatives with enterprise-wide strategies
- Review HR trends and metrics to support data-informed decisions and continuous improvement
- Lead employee relations using a proactive, solutions-oriented approach
- Support a positive, inclusive, high-performing workplace culture
- Ensure employee concerns are addressed professionally and effectively
- Partner with L&D teams to design and deliver training programs
- Help shape learning strategies that support employee growth and organizational goals
- Maintain employment compliance with relevant laws, policies, and procedures
- Oversee HR systems, benefits administration, and site-level HR processes
- Manage Workers’ Compensation and FMLA programs
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
- Oversee HR administrative functions and systems
- Coach, mentor, and develop a team including a Human Resources Coordinator, Recruiter, and Payroll Coordinator
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency
- Support Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives to help promote a safe work environment
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives
- Travel as needed
Requirements
- 6 years of general Human Resources experience, with at least 2 years as a Human Resource Manager or Human Resources Business Partner
- Experience leading and developing direct reports
- Prior industrial relations experience
- Manufacturing background preferred
- Confident self-starter who can work independently
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices
- Excellent organization, relationship building, and influencing skills
- Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS (experience with Paylocity is a plus)
- Payroll experience plus
- Awareness of and prior experience implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) plus
- Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience plus
