Job Description
Reyes and Hall, Inc. is hiring a Human Resources Manager to oversee HR operations across its Hawaii agricultural sites. In this onsite role in Kahului, you will report to the Director of HR and help ensure HR practices meet federal, state, and local labor and safety expectations, while supporting day-to-day employee lifecycle needs.
You will lead investigations, manage employee relations actions, and partner with safety leadership to keep compliance and incident response aligned across locations. This position also requires a balance of office administration and regular field presence, including travel to local sites and client-facing coordination.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and document thorough, objective workplace investigations, including resolution of employee grievances.
- Collaborate closely with the Safety Department to align HR practices with safety protocols, support accident investigations, and ensure compliance with MSPA and Hawaii DLIR standards.
- Manage sensitive disciplinary actions and terminations in a legally and professionally defensible manner.
- Direct hiring strategies to support both seasonal and year-round agricultural labor demands.
- Oversee seasonal onboarding and offboarding procedures end to end.
- Mentor and supervise the local HR Coordinator to ensure administrative accuracy.
- Manage Hawaii Workers’ Compensation claims from initiation through resolution.
- Administer employee health benefits and support open enrollment for the local workforce.
- Serve as the direct point of contact for agricultural clients, requiring regular travel and visibility at field sites.
- Partner with the Director of HR to analyze labor data and provide insights that improve operational excellence.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required, including the ability to conduct onboarding orientations, run complex investigations, and communicate labor, offboarding, and benefit standards fluently in both languages.
- Proven ability to balance office administration with frequent field deployments for investigations, employee engagement, and operational oversight.
- Demonstrated capability managing client relationships, supporting corporate partners, and delivering high-stakes consultative support.
- Operational experience managing high-volume employee lifecycle activity, including seasonal hiring surges and offboarding compliance.
- Working knowledge of Hawaii Workers’ Compensation regulations and health insurance mandates.
- Strong skills in workplace investigation methods, interviewing techniques, conflict resolution, and legally defensible documentation.
- Master-level understanding of federal MSPA and FLSA standards, plus Hawaii-specific state labor laws, wage-and-hour rules, and agricultural employment legislation.
- Working knowledge of HRIS, time-tracking platforms, and agricultural payroll software (e.g., Data Tech, Heavy Connect).
- Proven supervisory skills, including leading and mentoring HR personnel and guiding field supervisors on employee management.
- Exceptional interpersonal and teamwork skills across field crews, grower-clients, and executive leadership.
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Valid HR certificate (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) is highly preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of direct experience as an HR Manager or HR Director, preferably within an FLC, agricultural operation, or high-volume seasonal staffing environment.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean DMV driving record eligible for coverage under the company’s commercial auto insurance policy.

Pay
$100,000 - $120,000 per year
Physical requirements
- Remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing office administration.
- Constant operation of a motor vehicle across various regional and remote locations.
- Frequent movement across rough, uneven, or muddy terrain, including active agricultural fields.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Frequent positioning including bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or climbing.
- Constant exposure to outdoor environmental conditions such as extreme heat, direct sun, wind, rain, and dust.
- Ability to wear and work in required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Frequent communication in loud or outdoor environments.
