Job Description

FAMILIES TOGETHER OF ORANGE COUNTY is a mission-driven, in-person workplace where you will support hiring across all positions under the direction of the HR Manager. This Junior Recruiter role offers $28 to $30 per hour, onsite work in Tustin, CA, and a structured Monday to Friday schedule, with the opportunity to build talent pipelines through job fairs, networking, and outreach.

In this position, you will help ensure every step of the recruitment process runs smoothly, from advertising and sourcing to screening, interview coordination, and recordkeeping, while maintaining a positive candidate experience throughout.

What you’ll do

  • Work with hiring managers to draft, update, and optimize job descriptions so roles align with organizational needs and expectations.
  • Post and promote openings on the careers page, job boards, professional networks (including LinkedIn), and social media to attract qualified applicants.
  • Source and engage candidates through online channels, including job boards, professional networks, college career platforms, portfolio sites, and employee referrals.
  • Develop new and creative sourcing strategies to expand candidate pipelines, including efforts to reach underrepresented talent pools.
  • Screen resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates, shortlist for interviews, and support timely, professional candidate communication.
  • Conduct initial screenings by phone, video, or in person and assist with coordinating subsequent interview rounds with hiring teams.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment records in the position control system, ensuring internal and external documentation requirements are met.
  • Assess candidates based on qualifications and cultural fit aligned with organizational values and the mission statement.
  • Provide clear, prompt communication to candidates during the hiring process, including updates, answers to questions, and expectation-setting.
  • Coordinate structured feedback with hiring managers when appropriate.
  • Support onboarding coordination through a proper notification process.
  • Represent the organization at job fairs, networking events, and university career events to build employer brand visibility and talent pipelines.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership to monitor recruitment metrics, track open requisitions, and complete assigned status updates and reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all candidate interactions and data handling.
  • Stay current on hiring trends, labor markets, and talent acquisition best practices.
  • Complete additional recruitment-related tasks and projects as assigned by HR leadership.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or HR certificate preferred, ideally in a related field.
  • 1 to 2 years of human resources experience as a Talent Coordinator, Junior Recruiter, HR assistant, HR Coordinator, or similar role with exposure to the recruiting process.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Outlook.
  • Experience with an ATS system, with Paylocity preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.

Schedule and location

  • Location: Tustin, CA (onsite)
  • Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • FTOC is an in-person organization first and foremost, and employees are expected to be onsite for scheduled shifts.
  • Holidays and weekends may be required depending on department needs related to organizational, staffing, community, and patient requirements as the organization expands.
  • Overtime may also occur based on organizational, staffing, community, and patient needs.
