Lead Human Resources Generalist
Job Description
Strategic Lead HR Generalist role onsite in Columbus, NE, with an annual salary of USD 60,000, responsible for directing HR initiatives, talent management, employee relations, onboarding, and compliance at Columbus Hydraulics Company, LLC.
Responsibilities
- Act as the central HR resource for managers and staff on policies, procedures, and employment matters.
- Investigate and resolve employee relations concerns, complaints, and workplace conflicts in a timely, professional manner.
- Advise managers on performance management, disciplinary steps, coaching, and corrective action plans.
- Foster a positive culture by driving employee engagement and retention initiatives.
- Collaborate with managers to assess staffing needs and design effective recruitment strategies.
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment including sourcing, interviewing, selection, and onboarding.
- Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new hires.
- Support workforce planning and succession planning efforts.
- Guide performance review cycles and assist managers with goal setting and development plans.
- Identify training gaps and coordinate learning and development programs.
- Provide coaching to managers on leadership development and performance improvement.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update HR policies, employee handbooks, and standard operating procedures.
- Support audits, reporting requirements, and HR recordkeeping practices.
- Monitor HR trends and propose policy enhancements.
- Assist with compensation analysis, market benchmarking, and annual merit review processes.
- Support benefits administration and employee benefit communications.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure effective benefits delivery.
- Oversee FMLA, disability, workers’ compensation, and other leave programs.
- Coordinate with insurance carriers and third-party administrators as needed.
- Maintain HRIS data integrity and generate HR metrics and reports.
- Analyze workforce data and present recommendations to leadership.
- Lead or participate in HR projects focused on process improvement and organizational effectiveness.
Requirements
- 5 to 8+ years of progressive human resources experience.
- Experience handling employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and compliance matters.
- Fluent in both Spanish and English.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with HRIS platforms and HR reporting tools.
- Effective project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
