People Operations (HR) Generalist
Job Description
A People Operations (HR) Generalist at Home Run Inn in Woodridge, IL (hybrid), handles employee relations, onboarding, benefits, leave administration, HR compliance, and supports recruiting and process improvements across multiple locations, with a salary range of USD 75,000 - 90,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for teammate questions and guidance.
- Partner with leaders on employee relations, coaching, and policy interpretation.
- Manage intake for employee relations matters and assist with workplace investigations.
- Foster positive relationships while upholding fairness, consistency, and confidentiality.
- Lead onboarding and orientation to help new teammates feel welcome from day one.
- Contribute to recognition, engagement, communications, and culture initiatives.
- Assist teammates in navigating benefits, leaves of absence, accommodations, and return-to-work processes with empathy.
- Administer leave programs including FMLA, ADA accommodations, personal leaves, and other leaves.
- Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with employment laws.
- Support unemployment claims, workers' compensation, employment verifications, and audits.
- Assist with HRIS data management and employee records in Paylocity.
- Manage the myHR inbox and provide timely support.
- Collaborate on People Operations projects and ongoing process improvements.
- Support recruiting and onboarding during periods of high hiring activity.
- Coordinate training logistics and internal communications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of Human Resources experience.
- Experience with employee relations, benefits, leave administration, and HR compliance.
- Working knowledge of employment laws including FMLA and ADA.
- Experience supporting managers in a multi-location environment is a plus.
- HRIS experience, Paylocity preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
