Recruiter

Full-time CDL Recruiter on-site in Grand Rapids, Michigan, responsible for sourcing, screening and onboarding qualified drivers within transportation staffing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute targeted recruitment strategies to attract qualified CDL drivers.
• Foster strong relationships through effective communication and customer service.
• Collaborate with the operations team to understand staffing needs and shape recruitment plans.
• Screen candidates through the applicant tracking system, including resume review, phone interviews, qualification assessment and background checks to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
• Coordinate onboarding activities, including background screening, pre-employment testing, employment verification and document verification.
• Maintain accurate recruitment records and provide regular hiring metrics and pipeline status reports to management.
• Stay informed about industry trends, labor market conditions, and regulatory changes impacting driver recruitment and retention.

Requirements

• Proven experience recruiting CDL commercial drivers, including sourcing, screening, qualifying and onboarding.
• Strong knowledge of driver qualification requirements, DOT regulations and compliance standards.
• Track record of implementing effective driver recruiting strategies.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in transportation, trucking or logistics industries is preferred.
• Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, recruitment software and Microsoft Office.
• Interviewing skills with active listening, analysis and targeted follow-up questions.
