Job Description
Northwestern Mutual’s Athens, GA office is seeking a Recruiter (Talent Acquisition Specialist) to source, screen, and onboard candidates for financial planning and wealth management. The role centers on building relationships with office leadership and the local professional community, with a clear growth path into leadership.
The position emphasizes collaboration, a structured candidate experience from first contact through onboarding, and the use of data to improve hiring outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage candidate pipelines through referrals, networking, and community engagement in the Athens area
- Identify and attract top talent using digital sourcing, referrals, and professional networks
- Conduct initial interviews and candidate screenings
- Administer and interpret assessment tools as part of the selection process
- Coordinate follow-up interviews and meetings with leadership
- Represent Northwestern Mutual at Athens-area networking and community events
- Deliver a structured, professional candidate experience from first contact through onboarding
- Partner closely with office leadership to execute recruiting initiatives
- Maintain accurate candidate records using recruiting and CRM software
- Track and analyze recruiting metrics to improve hiring outcomes
- Support new hires as they transition into their roles
- Assist with recruitment reporting, leadership meetings, and strategic planning
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust quickly
- Prior experience in recruiting, sales, staffing, HR, business development, or networking roles preferred
- Well-connected in the Athens business or professional community
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-driven
- Comfortable working independently and in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and recruiting/CRM tools
