Senior Human Resources Specialist
Job Description
The Senior Human Resources Specialist will provide consultation-focused HR support to assigned client groups or specific disciplines, using subject matter expertise to strengthen the effectiveness of the Human Resources function.
Role Summary
Administer and support human resources practices and policies within a discipline or client group. Serve as an HR subject matter expert to help ensure HR services are executed effectively and align with company needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer applicable Human Resource policies and procedures affecting employees
- Serve as a team leader or participant on special Human Resource projects, as needed
- Interface with internal and external groups, including other Human Resource departments, Strategic Business Units (SBUs), projects, and vendors
- Communicate and collaborate in a globally diverse environment
- Maintain an ongoing working relationship with discipline management to ensure services are properly executed
- Build and sustain relationships with the direct manager and colleagues while acting as a discipline expert
- Perform other duties as assigned
Additional Job Requirements
- Coordinate orientation and safety training
- Verify work eligibility with Federal/State agencies (I9)
- Conduct field supervision training
- Maintain a process for records retention in a timely manner
- Participate in appreciation events and team building activities
Required Qualifications
- Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in an applicable field of study, plus seven (7) years of work-related experience; alternatively, a combination of education and directly related experience equal to eleven (11) years if non-degreed
- Some locations may require additional or different qualifications to comply with local requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences including management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
- Job-related technical knowledge necessary to perform the role
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Preferred Qualifications
- Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in HR, Psychology, Education, Business, Finance, or related field, with significant Human Resources experience
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification, or applicable HR accreditation
- Problem solving, communication, judgment, and conflict resolution skills, including the ability to provide analysis, conclusions, and recommendations
- Demonstrated discretion in handling confidential company and employee information
- Knowledge of cultures and ability to collaborate cross-culturally
- Ability to build trusting relationships, gain credibility, and partner with leaders and peers
- Ability to achieve results in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines
- Team orientation and positive working relationships with employees at all levels
- Understanding of the organization’s structure, corporate culture, and business objectives
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient computer and software skills, including word processing, email, spreadsheets, and electronic presentations
- Broad knowledge of internal database applications for designated discipline
Compensation and Location
- Location: Hawesville, KY (onsite)
- Salary: USD 83,000 - 154,000 per year
- Employment Experience: 7 years minimum
