Site People Operations & Labor Leader
Job Description
Momentive is seeking a Site People Operations & Labor Leader for its Sistersville manufacturing facility, on-site in Friendly, West Virginia. This role blends strategic labor relations with hands-on people leadership to cultivate a stable, high-performing environment today and to shape how leaders and HR practices evolve over time. The position offers a salary range of USD 98,000 to 143,550 per year and requires a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field along with at least 10 years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead the site’s People and Labor strategy, managing union engagement and collective bargaining support; collaborate with site leadership to align workforce and labor plans with business needs; identify trends and drive systemic improvements rooted in root-cause analysis.
- Strengthen the work environment by promoting leadership effectiveness, fairness, and consistency; equip leaders to engage with employees and address concerns early; identify root causes of dissatisfaction such as communication gaps or inconsistent practices; partner to build a culture of direct engagement, trust, and accountability across both union and non-union populations.
- Maintain a visible operations partnership on the plant floor to stay connected with employee realities; coach leaders on people leadership, performance management, and decision-making; facilitate team sessions and drive leadership alignment.
- Oversee labor relations execution, including grievances, investigations, and arbitration processes; ensure fair, consistent, and compliant discipline and employee relations practices; foster a constructive relationship with union representatives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to site leadership, challenging assumptions when needed; drive improvements in leadership effectiveness, accountability, and consistency; reduce recurring issues by strengthening manager capability and decision quality.
- Manage HR excellence through the team by overseeing the full employee lifecycle (hiring, onboarding, development, retention); partner with Centers of Excellence to implement HR programs and policies effectively; ensure strong execution, compliance, and continuous improvement; perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in labor relations within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record managing union relationships, grievances, and arbitration processes.
- Experience leading and developing HR team members.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. labor laws, including NLRB regulations.
- Ability to influence and constructively challenge leaders.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
